Course Description: Learn the causes, signs, and impacts of xerostomia and hyposalivation, and explore effective diagnosis, management strategies, and patient education to maintain optimal oral health.

1) Identify the etiology of xerostomia and/or hyposalivation including the prevalence and the root cause
2) Understand the causes and mechanisms of reduced salivary flow and its impacts on oral health
3) Recognize the the signs and symptoms of xerostomia as well as methods of diagnosis
4) Review management strategies by various treatment options considering risks, benefits, and alternatives
5) Educate and guide patients on preventive measures and management of xerostomia including lifestyle changes and oral hygiene practices
