Course Description: This 1-hour webinar, What Mommy Dentists Need to Know about the Opioid Epidemic, explores the impact of opioids on dental practice and community health. It emphasizes safe and effective non-opioid strategies for managing pain in dentistry. Participants will examine the unique role Mommy Dentists can play in prevention, education, and advocacy to address the opioid crisis. Practical guidance will be provided for caring for patients at risk, including those with substance use disorders.
Please note: This course does NOT fulfill the Dental Board of California’s mandatory CE opioids requirement for license renewal. It is eligible for 1 CE credit under AGD subject code 346 – Opioid, Controlled Substances, and Pain Management. However, PACE-approved programs are not considered authorized providers of the eight hours of safe prescribing training required for renewing or receiving a DEA license.
