Description
with Special Guest Speaker: Jeanette MacLean, DDS
Recorded on August 27th, 2024
Course Description: New patient exams and recall visits are an excellent opportunity for oral healthcare providers to share a wealth of information about prevention strategies, products, and treatments. Early interventions like fluoride varnish, prescription toothpaste, povidone iodine, stannous fluoride, and silver diamine fluoride (SDF), can help prevent or arrest caries lesions and improve gingival health. Minimally invasive treatment of incipient caries lesions can help delay or even avoid entering the surgical restorative cycle and prolong the lifespan of the natural dentition. Dr. MacLean will discuss strategies to help our patients and their families have a lifetime of optimal oral health.
Learning Objectives:
1. Review talking points for caries prevention
2. Review non-surgical treatments for incipient caries lesions
3. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the different treatment options
