Course Description:
The presentation will include a case-based discussion of the most commonly misdiagnosed or under-diagnosed oral pathology entities including both soft and hard tissue lesions. Emphasis will be paid to those lesions which appear innocuous and may represent serious neoplasms and to those lesions that may appear ominous but may not require biopsy or further treatment. This seminar will present a potpourri of interesting cases encountered in general and specialty dental practices. Differential diagnoses, management strategies, signs and symptoms, clinical and radiographic presentation, etc. will be presented.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
-Recognize and understand some commonly missed oral soft and hard tissue lesions and the implications of these lesions in dental practices.
-Understand the underlying pathogenesis, signs and symptoms of these conditions.
-Develop a differential diagnosis for these soft and hard tissue lesions.
-Understand reasons for when to refer for biopsy, improve diagnostic skills and management strategies.
